X-rays and CT scan are very useful and widely used for diagnosis purposes. There is a misconception, however, regarding x-ray and scanning and, that is, there are no side effects of scanning. There are no immediate side effects but scanning produces side effete in the long run. That is why it is advised to undergo as less x-ray and ct scanning as possible.

There should be an interval between two scanning tests. Before scanning, doctor should ask from the patient about the date of his/her last x-ray or ct scanning. Also, it is the duty of the doctor to clear the patients about every risk involving not only CT scanning but every other type of scanning such as virtual colonoscopy.

X-ray machines produces radiation which have undergone ionizations. The amount of such ionized radiation in nature is about 2.5 millisievert. Millisievert is the unit of measurement of radiations. During CT scan or preventative scanning, 2-4 millisievert of radiations emit. And during x-rays 0.3-0.1 millisievert radiations are exposed to patient. It is a small amount but continuous exposure with minimum time of intervals can cause same serious damages.

Every type of radiation has some side effects. The risk of getting harms from these radiations can never be eliminated. When patients are in serious conditions, its health factor should be considered before taking him/her to the Ct angiography room. Sometimes due to serious illness patients’ bodies catch more radiations and they increase more harms. You can find all such information on Scan directory.

Scan Directory is one of the best places to find out nearest clinic of specialists who can took your tests and guide you properly regarding Ct and MRI scan processes for diagnosis.
