While in larger enterprises the swiveling chairs are used also by the employees who have to move and cover a lot of space in course of their duties, in middle and small enterprises it is ordinarily the prerogative of the executive class employees. A swiveling office chair enables the employees to stay sitting and cover a lot of space at the workplace.  This will help them eliminate the loss of energy by standing or walking.

In the swiveling office chairs the wooden saddle seat allows the employer to have an upright or slanted sitting position according to his or her convenience.  This supports the body quite well giving them a comfortable posture.  The armrests also provide more support that increases the comfort.  When the employee works with comfort he or she may not bother much for the working time. As a result the organization is gainer both quantitatively and qualitatively.

The work culture of offices required that there should be some distinction between the executives and other employees and this was ensured with the putting in place of the desk chairs for the employees and leather or other executive chairs for the senior officials.  That was the beginning of the concept of executive chairs in the office furniture culture. Peculiarly enough in larger enterprises with the employees using swiveling chairs, the executives had to settle for large static chairs.

Gradually the office chairs became armless and cushioned while executive chairs became upholstered and cushioned with closed arms.
